Ghana Fund announces up-coming trade missions during the period 2024 to 2025 to the following destinations:

Application information and more detailed trade mission information, including the investing programmes, commercial settings and sector information regarding each trade mission, can be found at https://ghana-trade.com/join-trade-mission.html. Each trade mission recruitment will be conducted in a transparent, open and public manner. Public notices will be given in wide ranging media including direct mail, notices through industry associations, meetings, etc.
- Applicants must submit a fully completed and signed trade mission application.
- Applicants must provide adequate information on their products and/or services, primary market objectives, and goals for participation. Applicants whose main aim is to engage investors must provide a clear project proposal
- Ghana Fund reserves the right to either reject an application or request for additional information or clarification.
- Ghana Fund may cancel the trade mission if the required minimum number of participants is not selected for a particular mission by the recruitment deadline.
- Where a trade association is applying on behalf of its membership, the association must provide the requirements for each individual applicant that the association represents for the purpose of the trade mission.
The following interest areas of businesses qualify to join the trade mission:
- Exporters of types of goods except those that are fully manufactured outside Ghana.
- Business propositions seeking inward foreign direct investments
- Start-up businesses looking for inward foreign direct investments
- Inward Franchising
- Outward Franchising
- Existing businesses looking for foreign investment for expansion
The Trade Mission targets Ghanaian businesses and trade associations that are interested in exporting Ghanaian goods and services, have interest in expanding their businesses into the host country, seeking inward foreign direct investment for new, existing or start-up business.
Due to the large numbers of applicants for the trade mission, the following criteria will be used to evaluate the applications to participate:
- Suitability of the applicant’s products and services to the destination countries.
- For outward foreign direct investing activities, participants offering must fit the destination country’s legal requirements and business conditions.
- Potential to generate interest in pooling inward foreign direct investments to Ghana.
- Consistency of applicant’s goals and objectives of participating in the Trade Mission being in tune with the Trade Mission goals.
Applications shall be rejected if any of the following conditions shall prevail:
- Referrals from a political party or partisan political group or any information containing references to political contributions or other partisan political activities.
- Applicant sponsored by a political group.
Ghana Fund has an all-inclusive policy, and will notify all applicants whose applications were not successful of the reason for the rejection.
Ghana Fund will evaluate applications on rolling basis until the maximum number of participants are selected. Ghana Fund reserves the right to cancel an approved application if after approval, it is discovered that a condition that requires rejection of the application has not apply.
Being part of a Trade Mission presents several benefits including making critical new business contacts, partnering opportunities, international sales, and investing opportunities.
Other benefits are:
- Match-making for one-to-one meetings with foreign industry executives and government officials, pre-screened to match your specific business objectives.
- Leveraging the in-country congenial economic environment for establishing business in the host country.
- Face-to-face interviews and discussions with in-country investors and brokers.
- Networking events with guests from local industry multipliers including chambers of commerce, associations, and business councils influential in the business community.
- Briefings and roundtables with the legal and business community on local business practices and opportunities.
- Site visits to local facilities which may be of interest to your business development.

All parties interested in participating in the trade mission must submit an application for consideration by the Ghana Fund. All applications will be evaluated on their best meet of the selection criteria.
All applicants must register their interest to participate to be qualified for selection to join the Trade Mission. Registration of Interest to Participate must be accompanied with a non-refundable booking fee of GHC2,500 or US$200 (payable in cedis).
The cost to participate is relative to the destination. Costs include return air ticket in economy class, 3-star hotel (upgradable), conferences band meetings with trade organisations, match-making meetings, and banqueting where applicable. Visa and visa-related fees are not included.

All other costs not mentioned above including meals, and incidentals will be the responsibility of each participant. Where an interpreter becomes necessary, this shall be arranged at the cost of the participant.
Participation fees must be paid at least 60 days before the date of commencement of each Trade Mission.
